The fitting
A garment is altered on the person who will wear it. The tailor pins it on the client and gives the price before any work begins. A hem depends on the shoes; bring them. Jackets are not quoted by telephone, because the shoulder cannot be judged from a description.
Two laundry services
La La Signature is wash-dry-fold to instruction: separated, hang-dried, low heat, with or without softener. The Laundry Clinic is for garments that need treatment: stain treatment, delicate care, air drying, specialty soap and lint removal. They are different services, each priced by the pound, and a garment that has been given up on usually belongs in the Clinic.
Soap
Aromic is the house laundry soap, made without dyes, chlorine or parabens. It is used on every Signature and Clinic load. A client's own soap may be used on request.
Solvents
Dry cleaning at the atelier uses biodegradable agents and eco-friendly solvents. Where a garment is to be both cleaned and altered, it is cleaned first and fitted after, so the cloth has finished moving before it is pinned.
