Alterations
Hems, take-ins, zippers, linings, a jacket that has never sat right on the shoulder. Bring it to the Atelier on East 3rd and the tailor looks at it with you wearing it, not flat on a counter.
It is all three, and it began as a laundromat. Avenue B opened in 2024 with washing machines at the front and plants growing through everything else. In March 2026 a second shop opened two blocks away on East 3rd Street, in the old Monk Thrift space. That one is the Atelier: the tailor, and the dry cleaning.
Laundry still pays for the building — the owners call it the milk and bread. Tailoring is the part that is growing, and it is what the Atelier was built for.
Six services, one phone number. Nothing here is ordered online.

Suits, coats, silk, and the dress you would rather not hand to just anyone. Cleaned with biodegradable solvents. Most people drop alterations and dry cleaning together — it is the same counter.

Two kinds, and almost nobody knows there are two. The Laundry Clinic is the specialist one. The Signature is wash-dry-fold done to your instructions. In before 11am comes back the same day.

The plants are not set dressing, they are for sale. Monsteras, pothos, trees, and whatever came in that week. This is the reason people stop at the window and ask what the shop actually is.

La La Maids cleans apartments and offices — deep cleans, routine weekly or bi-weekly, move-in and move-out, and the morning after a party. Green products if you ask for them.

Both shops can be taken privately. Brands and production crews use them for shoots and events — the plants, the light and the tile are already there and nothing has to be built. Call with your date.
Three things make the work slower than it has to be. All three are the reason to come here.
Our own. No dyes, no chlorine, no parabens. Bring your own instead if you'd rather.
The process runs on biodegradable agents and eco-friendly solvents rather than harsh ones.
The tailor pins the garment while you are wearing it and prices it before anything is cut.
None of that is faster. None of it is cheaper.

They are different services, not two prices for the same service. Most customers only ever meet one of them.

The Atelier opened in March 2026, two blocks from Avenue B, in the space that used to be Monk Thrift. It is where the tailor works.
People who come in for an alteration almost always leave the dry cleaning at the same time, because it is the same trip and the same counter. If a garment needs both, say so on the phone and we will clean it first, then fit it.
